Welcome back to another episode of Midwest Whitetail and we're excited to showcase a day of hunting that will not soon be forgotten. On the same day, two bucks hit the ground only minutes apart. Before jumping to the hunts, we check in with Mike Reed who lays out what strategies he's keying in on moving forward as the late season approaches. He talks through different types of food, what someone could do if they don't have a great food source to hunt, and everything in between. From there, we jump to November 22nd. After hitting the sideline for a few days following his successful buck hunt on Area 52, Zach Rozmus heads into his hunt unsure what to expect. With good intel of bucks moving onto the earned permission property nicknamed the "Goat Hills," excitement was high to see what might show. Keying in on the return to food movement, the hope is to catch a buck looking to recover post rut or looking for the last available doe. What comes next is a hunt that Zach will never forget. The first reason being he put another big buck down with the bow and the second being that right as he made the call to tell great friend Kane Gillette what happened, he got the news that Emma (Kane's daughter) had just shot her first firearm buck. Two bucks down only minutes apart is a memory neither will soon forget and we hope you enjoy the hunts.
