On this week's episode of Midwest Whitetail, we take a dive back into the 2023 bow season where Rye Ludwig got had an opportunity at tagging a once in a lifetime buck. First, we dive back and look at the history of the farm; Kaleb Greiner has had permission on the piece for many years and, setting his sights elsewhere for the 2023 season, offered Rye the opportunity to hunt it. Going into hunting season, Rye had only hunted the farm once in 2022 and had minimal firsthand intel on how deer used the property. Initially, targeting a mature tight framed buck named "Tight 10," the plan was to construct two small Monsterbuck green plots in an area of a corn field where deer damage was severe. The plot would hopefully create a draw to deer thus putting them in bow range, and along with that came the identification of a great stand location overlooking the green plot. As the season goes on, a giant shows up on the farm and chess match for both bucks takes off from there. We hope you enjoy the episode and as always thank you for the support week in and week out!
