The Gunnison Basin in Colorado is a prime wintering habitat for elk, deer and pronghorn, but antiquated fencing in the area acts as a barrier for big game herds migrating to and from their winter grounds. In May 2023, BHA hosted a Beers, Bands, and Barbed Wire Strands event and organized over 100 volunteers to roll up their sleeves and roll up 5 miles of barbed wire fence and improve this vital wildlife migration corridor.
