Guatemala sits in a Neotropical transitional area that connects South America to North America, through a narrowly winding stream of land with varying altitudes and landscapes that we've come to call Central America.
Ian, Mike, and Trent link up with Wildlife Photographer Andres Novales to travel across the country, targeting the different legendary and threatened species in each region. First, they tackle the prehistoric cloud forests, high altitude mountainous jungles that have fostered the evolution of many different venomous tree-dwelling pit vipers. The biggest targets here are the Yellow-blotched Palm Pit Viper and the Guatemalan Palm Pit Viper.
Stumbling through year's worth of decaying plant matter and vibrant palms towering over the group, they hike into unknown territory with big plans.
