Dr. Steven Sylvester, an Associate Professor in the History and Political Science department at UVU, and student researchers will discuss two papers the Herbert Institute of Public Policy has worked on. First, they will discuss a report that examines the relationship between the Division of Wildlife Resources and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. This report will explore pivotal moments within each organization and the economic benefits the connection provides to the state of Utah. The second paper will examine the mule deer population within Utah, the threats the population is facing, and the policy solutions the state of Utah has undertaken to ensure the mule deer population is protected.
